Experimenting in the studio

Well, I'm in my second year at uni now and its studio time! A couple of us had a play with various set ups, props, lighting and backgrounds to get to grips with the workings of our amazing studio. Finally I could get my hands on a Canon 5D MK2 (heavy breathing) and a variety of much better lenses to shoot with. I must say these images are average, but I kind of like the objects I use (yes I bought these useless pieces of tat with my loan....) and I did learn a lot about the workings of the studio considering I am a complete noob. I shot these all in RAW so they are hugeeeee file sizes. Also I used the wrong lens for the camera thats why theres the huge vignette, given the context and the objects, I kind of think it works.

Day one: self portrait

30 day photography challenge

Yep, I'm doing one of these things. Kinda generic I know, and no I'm not bored or have run out of ideas. For some reason I need a bit of guidance with my photography, I've not been as consistent with this blog as I would have liked to have been and feel I need to be stricter. Doing a photo a day will get me into shape. I wont reveal each days challenge right now, but reveal each one on each day, element of surprise yey. Or maybe I may mix them around depending on how creative (or bothered) I feel on the day (shhh). As with the rest of my projects I will be using my Canon 500d camera with all three of my lens's. For some of them I may use my tripod, which is a piece of equipment I haven't used in a while (MUST TURN STABILISER OFF!!) .

I will write a small sidenote below each image explaining the context and the story behind each image. Kind of a more interesting and visual way of doing a diary.

Okay, so challenge accepted and here we go!!
